Default Spare connector in steering column?

I pulled my dash apart yesterday to install a new stereo. While I was there, I pulled the steering column covers apart to take a look at the loose transmission selector lever (found it, too: the Torx screw that holds the lever you grab into the linkage was backed almost completely out). When I did, a pair of wires with a 2-pin connector on it fell out. The wires are green/white and black. Any idea what this is? Everything on the column seems to still work, but I haven't driven it yet.

I recently had my 2001 Bravada column covers off to install a new ignition switch and I have the same 2 wire harness that's not connected to anything either..

I couldn't find anything it would go to so I left it as is.. seems everything is fine though.. If you find out what it's for let me know..

If the truck had a floor shifter the park lock solenoid would be plugged into it.

I have a floor shifter and I found the same thing. The key would not come out if the shifter isn't in park, so those wires can't be for that (I have made that mistake before turning the truck off when it was in gear and didn't notice it until the key would not turn to the lock position). I was replacing the turn signal lever assembly and I am pretty sure that connector was a part of the wire harness that was part of that. The original one wasn't connected to anything, so I didn't connect it to anything on the new one. Everything seems to work fine. No warning lights either.
