hey im thinking about going to get this socket tonight to get my plugs done this week. is it made by duralast? the link that Tony put up is the one, right? for 6.99? and its a 3/8 drive, 5/8 spark plug socket. do you find it where all the spark plug sockets are at autozone im guessing?

I never got confirmation that the Link I put up is teh same exact as the one Blazerman911 is happy with. I have yet to buy it. His part number and the part number I have are different, that is why I went back and questioned it.

Hey i actually bought the one on your link! its dead on! had that plug out in 3 minutes. its like that socket is made for this truck! if you do plugs i recommend it strongly. i used it for all of them. worked great i had all the plugs changed in less than a half an hour

Another option is to find an old short 3/8ths extension. Walk over to a bench grinder and grind the ends at a 45 degree angle. So you can stick it in the socket on the spark plug and have your extension at an angle to break the plug loose.

Use your fingers to loosen the sparkplug socket. Installation in reverse...only using your grinded extension to break it loose, or tighten.

Thumbs up

I jack the frame up on the drivers side and set it on a jack stand till the drivers side tire is just off the ground. Then i jack the engine up just a little and it is a straight shot thru the drivers side wheel well to change the #3 Sparl Plug. No need to unbolt the motor mount - there is plenty of "streach" in the rubber. No special sockets required.

Took me a while to get at it but i did it. But at autozone the guy said to gap it to .045, and on some of these forums people say to gap to .060. Which is it I have a 1995 blazer LS 4dr 4x4.
