Unless you can actually see the leak, it can get tricky isolating each part in the plenum to locate it. If the upgrade hasn't been done, you'll thank yourself for doing it Better performance, better mileage, instantly. The upgrade is plug & play, no programming necessary. Make sure the bracket that secures the metering block in place comes with the kit, the original bracket will not fit properly on the upgrade.

Well I replaced the spider today. I could see that the OEM spider was leaking out of the FPR. Behind the spider the intake was nice and shiny, not all black like the rest of the intake. So it does start easier now and consistently but it still is taking a tad too long to fire up. I'm going to attack the cap/rotor, plugs, wires tomorrow to see if it will help. I'm not sure if the plugs have ever been changed..... :/ The new spider definitely helped smooth out the idle and revving. Sounds different when revving too. It runs good once it starts! But the new spider definitely helped the starting problem. Now when it starts it comes to life "weak".. I have no idea how else to explain it. I guess the best comparison could be starting a car that was flooded or had weak spark. Hopefully I have some plugs that are trash and it will start easier.

Well I haven't changed the cap/rotor/plugs or wires yet but today it started right up like it should. I'm going to try a few more days to see if it stays better. I will still do the tune up stuff but I'm just curious to see if its better now.

Just a thought; if the FPR is 'downstream' of the points of fuel pressure measurement (filter outlet & service port) could the FPR/vacuum be an issue?

Any final comments?

From what I can tell, it WASN'T a fuel pump issue. Correct?
