Default Spider swap done; hopefully.

Just want to thank all those who helped contribute to my efforts at swapping the new MPFI spider on my 99 Blazer.

Once the gasket released at the fuel meter, things went pretty well. Had to fight with the new spider legs in 40 degree temps, so things were stiff. I was concerned that they weren't going to go in without something breaking. Seems like a pretty delicate unit.

Vehicle started right off and sputtered badly until I found the vacuum hose off from the brake booster. Then seemed to run well, except for some raw gas smell. I learned it's best to tighten the fuel lines before driving off.

Hopefully, these pictures will come through. If so, do you think this the source of my gas smell, and poor fuel mileage??

Of course, my intake manifold gaskets just arrived today. Might save that job for Florida.

Bet if it wasn't for this web site, there would be a lot more bodies in the grave yard due to suicide. Thanks again, guys!!

I did the MFI swap on my 2000 GMC Jimmy and the car runs great. The only difficulty I had was getting the fuel lines at the back of the engine re-connected. It has been about 8 months since the swap was completed and all is good.

Delphi injector # is FJ10565. The gasket set is Felpro # MS95816. Make sure you oil the oval shaped O ring prior to installing the plenum.
