Default Spilled some coolant

Its getting hot out and I have an issue. I noticed some antifreeze coming out of the engine but on the driver' side near the radiator. I know the overflow is on the passenger side. I checked the hoses and didn't find any thing loose or cracked. Is there something on that side of the radiator that it could be leaking from?

i just had to replace my radiator after mine started to leak from the drivers side near the front. the plastic tanks on the side of the radiator have a tendency to crack over time. Just double check your hoses and then try and take it to a radiator shop.

have you checked your upper and lower radiator hoses?

If it's a small leak in the radiator you might try some kind of stop leak first to save a few bucks.

I always thought that adding stop leak could clog the radiator.

I noticed it started to leak once more when it was really hot out. Hoses look good, driver side leak again, so its probably that plastic on the radiator, I'm going to have it looked at.

That's correct. It works by plugging up holes and it isn't particular about what hole.

Yeah, it doesn't always work but sometimes it does. Can't get any worse then a already broke radiator.

Actually it can get worse, a plugged radiator is easy to change. A plugged heater core, not so much.

Took the plastic cover off the fan/radiator and I can see some small cracks in the top of the driverside of the radiator. My neighbor says he has a special wrench for undoing the cooler lines, so we're gonna replace the radiator this weekend. Anything special to look out for? Looks fairly straight forward at this point.

Also any brand radiator to get or to avoid?

Dude what is going on???? a radiator leak come on, so easy to find coolant leak I don't mean to sound like a smart *** but been a wrench for a long time put a pressure tester on it put some PSI in the system and eye ball it, it will show you exactly where it is leaking.

Well as I said earlier I FOUND the leak. I was asking about what to lookout for when changing it. I found out myself so I'll post it here for anyone else's future refernce.

Changed the radiator, seemed too easy, of course it was.

Transmission fluid is leaking from the fitting. Yes it has the new o-ring, yes its tightened all the way. I tried changing the fitting to the new one thinking that although they look identical there might be some minute difference. That was a mistake. Now its a nice steady drip, even more coming out, probably from the o-ring's on either side of the fitting.

Gonna try some thread tape and maybe high temp, oil rated silicone.
