My 95 has an OBD II hook-up..
It would throw multiple codes and stop running if the spider was bad. Had an old co-worker of mine have it happen to his. It does sound like the cat. If you aren't ready to put out the money for it, buy a can of seafoam and clean out your systems, see if it helps a bit. If not, your fuel system will be cleaner lol. Use it in the intake, too.

not true. i had poor gas mpgs, smell, and rough idle. took it to the mostly cause of mpgs and they told my injectors were bad. my injectors just leak internally. I got it replace and my mpgs are better. when you replace te spider injectors you have to replace the nylon hoses.

You can test for leaks with a common fuel pressure tester... No need to jump to the conclusion that the spider is at fault without doing proper testing. Something you might want to remember when making suggestions, kickme...

Oh pick it up at any auto parts store. It's a white can with red and black writing. YouTube gives better directions than the can does, and it's fairly staight-forward. I've used it a few times with success.

Sea Foam!!!
It worked! Hell ya! I used sea foam, gave it an oil change and now she's purring like a kitten. I drove it for around 2 hours today and no problems...well except now my air cond fan is shot but thats no biggie. It trickles cold air at least.
Next stop...shocks. Im glad I didnt have to replace the cat just yet. I can use the money to put shocks on my baby.

Rotten egg smell on a exhaust does not mean the cats are bad they probably need a good cleaning on the freeway if a lot of city driving is done you can get a build up on the cat that just needs a little RPM to clean it up. Depending on the year of your vehicle you have sensor that will tell you if something is wrong with your cat.( Don't fix it unless it is broke).
