Starter Relay
1996 4wd 4dr LT 4.3L -->I got the click-click-click of a bad battery and proceeded to take the battery in to have it load tested. Checks out great (1.5 years in on a 9 year battery). Next, I had the starter checked at a local AP store and found a bad solenoid. I replaced the solenoid no problems. I try to start the blazer and click-click-click. I would like to check the starter relay and can't get a reference as to where it is located. There are 3 Bosch relays on the top of the passenger side firewall. My Haynes says they are for A/C, but I can't imagine all three being for the A/C. Any help would be appreciated!
I looked at the wires on the Bosch relays at the top of the firewall and found both outside relays have larger diameter wires coming from the bottom; the center relay has thin control wire. Any idea as to which outside relay controls the starter?
Check all of the battery cable connections, both ends of all of the cables. Take 'em apart, shine 'em up with a file or sandpaper. Use a wire brush to clean off corrosion. Check the entire length of each cable for "blisters" or "bubbles" where the insulation bulges out. If it does, replace the cable. Tighten up all the connections.
