Default Starting issues 1999 Blazer

I recently put in a new motor into my Blazer. I went to turn the key and seem to be having issues. The starter is cranking way too slowly to start the engine. I have a new battery and starter, so both of those can be ruled out. Also, the positive wire going to the starter from the battery starts to get hot after a bit. I also noticed the ground going to the block, and that also got a bit warm. Could this be a bad ground issue? If so where and how can I find it? Also, the motor is getting fuel, air, spark, and compression (tested). This is the 4.3 V6 Vortec. Any help is appreciated
