Starting Problem
My girl has a 1998 blazer and its having a hard time starting. The first time you try it it just turns over and don't start but the 2nd time you start it it fires right up.I'm not sure what to check. It has a new battery but thats it that i know of. So what do yall suggest i try? Its not that big of a problem but she is scared that it won't start.
thanks for any help.

Probably the fuel pump telling you it's getting weak. 9 years old on the original pump (assuming it's original) is about it's useful working life. I'd check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail under the hood. Connect the gage, turn key on (but not to start). Pressure should hit about 60 psi and hold fairly steady. Under 60 psi and the pump clould be on the way out. If it's above 60 psi and doesn't hold pressure, could be leaking fuel injector(s), or a faulty/leaking fuel pressure regulator. There is a Schraeder valve on the fuel rail where you connect the gage to.
