Have you had the starter, alternator, and ignition coil tested?

Is your alternator putting out enough voltage when you have the vehicle running?

If the alternator wasn't putting out enough to charge the battery, then that could have been it. But seeing as you are getting enough juice, it could be other things like the starter may be possibly bad/going bad.

it seems to that it wouldnt start period if the starter or coil was defective. and it sounds like the starter is working find, turns over no problem.

Check the cables for corrosion on BOTH ends of both cables. You might have to twist them to see if any crap is inside. If it only starts hot or cold by jumping you probably got bad cables. You could also check them for resistance but I don't know what they should read, should be pretty low I would guess.

Think not, huh? Fine. 'Sounds like', 'looks like', 'feels like' don't tell you anything. Anything electrical or mechanical can be working, but not at full capacity, and not do what it's supposed to do. Hope you solve the problem, though.
