Starting problems. Need help ASAP

There's a great thread that's been saved on this forum which details how to isolate the pump and test it. The crude version is to disconnect the fuel line going into the filter and watching to see if fuel comes shooting out of the line. A more precise test is possible by following the steps in the aforementioned post. You'll have to use the search feature to find it. I believe it's called "96+ fuel system diagnosis" or something similar. You should be able to find it searching on that.

Hey Flip, the mechanics going to hand you a big scary bill. Yea it could be bad pump, clogged fuel filter, but if you hear the pump running and smell gas up in the bay with no fuel pressure look under the plenum. Something popped under there and you can see it. My guess is fpr or nut kit.
Going slow it will take you an hour with very few tools. Screw driver for air intake, needle nose for throttle and cruise cable and deep 10mm socket.
Heres one link one youtube but there are others you will find that show the entire thing.
Later I can give you a run down on cutting the fuel filter out and putting in a new one.
