Question Starting Problems unless the ignition is whooped!

I have a 95 s series blazer that is having an issue with starting. One day it will be fine then the next it will start for work but when i leave i find myself having to jiggle and smack the ignition for quite some time before I can get it to start. Any thoughts on what it may be or what needs to be replaced? Other than that the only other problem is my 4 wheel drive isn't working. The transfer case will engage but the front tires won't spin. The drivelines and everything else seem to be as they should, no clanking or slipping that I can feel or hear.

Thanks in advance!!!

Unclear as to if the motor is cranking and not starting or just dead.

Check the connections on your nuetral safety switch.Thats what was keeping my engine from turning over. Also could be a lose ground wire or coroded terminal

The key doesn't turn in the lock cylinder? Does the starter engage and crank the engine? Or does the starter crank the engine but it will not start? Or does the starter not even engage? You need to clarify the symptoms.

The key turns fine in the cylinder, the lights are on but tshe engine doesn't crank. Then for lack of better description abilities " Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Smack, Smack Smack, Smack, OMG!! YOU SOB.....Then START" Sometimes in only takes a little jiggle to fix it other times I look like I'm having a full on Grand Mal Seizure in the truck.

Hope That Helps!!!
