Default Stereo Wiring

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2001 Blazer. I recently tried to install a new stereo. Wired everything up and found I had no sound. My problem is the existing Bose amp and my stereo guy says I have to buy a $150 Bose harness to fix the problem. Is there a wiring schematic around for that? And... does anyone know if the Bose amp is run off 12 volts? Can I just wire it to be hot in run?

Thanks for your help,
Dave

PS The mods are awesome... keep the pics coming

Why not just get rid of the Bose amp all together?

I'd ditch the bose all together. You can get a comparable or better amp for $150 that will be compatible with just about any speaker you throw at it, aside from Bose.

I think I'll get rid of the Bose amp and put my V-Power amp in it (The 01 Blazer is my wife's truck). This will give a good excuse to buy myself new amps for my Blazer. LOL! Thanks. Dave

have fun ripping it out. youre going to have to splice the speaker wires or run new ones. the bose amp takes care of all the speakers (obviously) and after working in circuit city roadshop (before they were going bankrupt) i learned that factory amp systems are a pain to have and do nothing but cost a lot of money to bypass or rip out. so basically, you cant use the speaker wires in the radio harness. could be wrong though, that was a few years ago for me.
