Default Stock Ehaust systems...

I have now had the 3rd rust out on an exhaust system that is only 4 years old! This is a stock set up,replacements from NAPA.The unit is always driven at full warm temps(25 mi+) and I now had another tailpipe/muffler fail! Both the muffler and the tailpipe are virually perfect, just the outlet of the muff is cheese,so I can't just sleeve it and put them back together! Yes,I am going to have to replace a PERFECTLY good muff for $70! Is this driving any body else as crazy as it is me? Does anyone remember the small weep holes in the old muffs? Because:when you burn gasoline, the by product is water! Advice welcome,as I used to have exhaust systems go a full 150-200K! This is BULL!

NAPA... probably Walker. Aftermarket exhaust sucks, doesn't matter who makes it. If you want it to last 10 or more years and 150K to 200K, get genuine OEM stuff. Rock auto .com or a GM dealer.

I have had my stock OEM Exhaust system on my 2000 LT Blazer 4x4 106k every since it was new. I have never replace any exhaust parts (Now watch something go out).

Well the replacement was a Walker, but no warranty valid after 3 years! Even in a salt free climate:reason? It wasn't "professionally installed" I am so much more a wrench than the monkeys at Midas!Anyway it was clearly product failure, not installation! Regardless, now I have to buy another $75 muffler to keep my Jimmy fume free! And will not have a warranty either! I guess thats what I gotta do,and buy a new gasket and hardware to boot! I was gonna flush the coolant system next week but now that ain't gonna happen! Thanks Walker! And I never had any problems with their products before!

When my OEM muffler rusted out a couple of years ago, I installed a Walker "top of the line" with a lifetime guarantee. You can only install it one way due to the flange on the inlet, there are no "adjustments", ya can't screw it up. Damn thing rattled & hit the frame so hard that it wore a hole in the muffler. I told them about it when I installed it and decided to wait til it went bad. Yeah, well, it went bad. I checked around with other muffler manufacturers and found AP makes one with the correct dimensions. Warranteed the Walker and put the AP one in and it fits perfect.... AP #700187 and it's about half the cost:
Amazon Amazon
(it fits 2 door Blazer & Jimmy only). It's as quiet as the OEM, (Walker was noisy) we'll see how long it lasts.

I used to sell Walker exhaust years ago, when it was good stuff and it fit.

I have run two Blazers with aftermarket mufflers. I use Pro Flow mufflers. They are made in Canada & have a nice sound & last. The one on the 97 Blazer I owned has well over 100,000. I sold it when it had 100,000 on it & the guy that bought it says it is still going good.
I run MagnaFlow on my Dodge 2500 4x4 V-10.
