Default Strange clicking noise, nothing working right

I have a 98 Blazer with a serious electrical issue. I just finished re-soldering a loose connection on my PRND21 board in the instrument cluster because it would not light up when car was running. During the fix, I left the key turned over so I could move the gear shifter. I also left the battery plugged in so I could plug the gauge cluster in to check if it worked before I reassembled the dash. However, now I'm having a strange issue. After I put the dash back together, I turned the key and a couple of lights on the gauge cluster light (Check Engine and Airbag...both of which were lit before), but the starter doesn't turn over.

Without the key in the ignition, there is a clicking sound that happens ever 3-4 seconds. I turned on one of my map lights, and it only works until the click and then it shuts off. The process repeats itself every 3-4 seconds. When I turn on the hazards, I only hear a rapid clicking noise coming from the turn-signal clicker on the passenger side. No lights though. I have no headlights. Also, when I turn the battery on (turning the key to the left) the clock says 1:00 and the compass comes on. However, every 3-4 seconds the compass "resets" as if I just turned the key. The horn does not work...I only hear a low rumbling sound under the hood.

Any ideas would be very helpful. I'm at a complete loss here.

Take both of the cables off at the battery. Clean both terminals on the cables, and both terminals on the battery. Reconnect the cables and charge the battery. Post your results.

Problem solved. My battery was really low. A jump fixed it right up! Sometimes it's the simplest things! Considering I just spent the last 6 days fixing the leaking manifold gasket issue, this was a synch!
