Maybe I should try the spare on the car and see if the clicking stops. I can't really tell if there is a nail in it with it on the truck. But the spare is P235/70R15 and the other 4 tires are LT215/75R15. Can I put the spare on the left front without any ill effects?

Looking at the two tire sizes, they are almost the same in terms of outside diameter.

215/75R15 = 27.70" OD
235/70R15 = 27.95" OD

Just do not try 4wd on high traction surfaces.

I did your test. NO play at all up or down. Only like 2-3 degrees side to side with the steering wheel locked, but it moves the tie rod and pitman arm normally, so no actual play in the hub. I spun the wheel fast a couple times. Little resistance, but I thought it was normal. Thought I heard the CV boot rubbing itself because the car was jacked up. Other than that it was quiet. I put the spare on, but since the roads were wet they could be masking any noise there is in the front end. I will keep the spare on and not use the 4wd for a couple days after the roads dry so I can listen for clicking and only drive locally to make sure it was the tire and not the front diff.

At my school the students park in a gravel parking lot that has no gravel in the center because all the other students who drive full size Chevys and Dodge pickups (one person can't even drive in the parking lot without full throttle or burning out. He almost hit me, a couple of my friends, my car and their cars once. He would have if he was only 2 feet to the right.) like to burn out and speed. The sides of the lot however have alot of gravel left. I found alot of small (~2mm across) pebbles in the LF tire in the center packed down in the tread. These are Goodyear Wrangler AT/S LT215/75R15 tires in case anyone knows the tread pattern with the centerline of the tire. Could these very tiny gravel pieces make the noisy clicking (with the window open) I am hearing between 10-35 MPH?

Maybe now I should get to school very early and park in the Principal's parking space which is actually on asphalt......LOL. Hopefully they don't have it towed. Maybe I should put it into 4HI and cut the wheel???? With all the tax hikes our parents pay here the students shouldn't need to park on gravel parking lots with nice cars. I got to say though. Gravel and the mud in that lot really are annoying. It gets on my shoes and my rolling bookbag and it tracks into the car. You can laugh if you guys want, but I try to keep a very clean car. I keep the thick rubber floor mats clean, I wipe the leather seats every couple days with leather wipes and I keep the outside clean. I even always get the undercarriage wash when I get it washed. Some of my friends even call it the USS Enterprise-D because of it's NERD driver-ME.

Thanks for all the help on this matter and sorry if I annoyed anyone with my off topic rant about our school.
