Default Struggling with my alternator installation

Got one bolt in and half of the second one. Can't seem to get it to grab the back threads. Any solutions?

Later: Never mind.

Where there's a will there's a way!

Get a tap and clean the threads. Might as do both holes while you're at it.

On mine the alternator was sitting crooked. I was able to get a flat screwdriver in the front and pry the insert back just enough to make it looser and able to slide the alternator around and line it up. I’d try that before breaking out the tap and die set

From my new alternator I get an irritating high pitch whining or whistling noise that increases in loudness on acceleration. Goes away or gets drowned out at speed.
If the noise is not a sign that I got a bad alternator, I will keep it, I guess..

Suggest doing a warranty return and get another one. Sounds like a bad bearing.
