RUN position is when the dash lights just come on. CRANK position is spring loaded to make the starter engage.

Just checked the crank fuse in all positions. Nothing at all on either terminal. Checked the fuse itself to see if it was good with a Fuse tester and the fuse is good

Clarify something for me here, when you test the CRANK fuse, the starter should be cranking the engine over, and there should be battery voltage on both terminals of the fuse.

Ok so I didn't know what the start position was lol. Captain helped me figure it out. All fuses came back good

Ok so after reading Lesmyers post I'm assuming its either the TCCM or the Encoder Motor that is bad, possibly both. Also Today I went to drain the transfer case and put in new ac delco t case fluid and when I removed the drain plug nothing came out. So I poked a screw driver in there and it was clogged with slug and maybe half a cup of fluid came out. That doesn't sound good, but I refilled the t-case with fluid. So next before searching for A TCCM and encoder Motor cause they are pricey I'm going to remove the encoder motor and inspect it, not sure how much good this will do, but figured I would anyways. Also since I can pull the 4wd fuse and it will disengage from 4wd that tells me my solenoid , vacuum line , vacuum actuator , and cable are all good correct? Thanks for the help guys.

Just a word of warning, if the encoder motor is stuck in 4X4 and you remove it from the TFC, the shaft it turns on the TFC will snap back to the 2WD position and you will be unable to reinstall the encoder motor as it will no longer line up with the shaft. Re-aligning the encoder motor to the 2WD position involves removing the motor cover, pulling off the brake, and turning the motor by hand until it lines up, then reassembling.

Sludge and low fluid will kill these TFCs, you likely have a stretched chain and probably burnt clutches. The fluid pickup for the pump is in a groove in the bottom of the case, if it is clogged the new fluid will not circulate.

Have you tried to retrieve trouble codes from the controller?

If you have a pull it yard near you. That is a good place to get multiple tccms and encoder motors for the same price you would get 1 new of each.

I have not tried to get codes from the TCCM. Don't know anyone with the right coder. Well I hope its not a stretched chain or burnt clutch or she wont be fixed for along time. richphotos that's what I planned on doing, don't feel like spending 500$ for a new TCCM and Encoder lol. Thanks for the helps guys you have really helped me narrow this down to what it probably is

If pulling the fuse returns the T-case to 2WD mode, then the encoder motor is working fine...it is doing what the TCCM is telling it to do.

If you remove the electrical connector from the encoder motor and remove the vacuum line going to the actuator, put a plug on the vacuum switch port...then you can put the fuse back in and the T-case nor the front axle will be able to go into 4WD mode.

OR is my thinking wrong??

If that's the case and my encoder motor is working, then the problem would have to be the TCCM I would think...It's weird no one has had this same issue as me...Ive seen people stuck in just 4 lo or 4 hi, but my 4 button switch has lights lit up on on all 4 buttons and wont go away, so idk if im stuck in 4 auto, 4 hi or 4 low. But if what you said is true, and I can put the fuse back in then atleast ill have all my gauges on the dash working and will be out of 4wd, wont fix the 4wd problem but will suffice for now

Ill try it and see if it works, also going to try to find a used TCCM at a you pull it and see if that fixes the problem
