Default Stumped by location of air bag disconnect at base of steering column

I don't pretend to be a great diagnostician but my eyesight, in spite of my age, is till pretty good (I think)....but for the life of me I can't seem to find the disconnect connection (yellow wires) from the air bag at the base of the steering column on my '97 Blazer, which has been a good vehicle to date. Is it at the base of the steering column beneath the gas pedal or is it under the hood? Obviously, I don't want to deploy the air bag accidentally.

I am in the process of replacing the ignition switch.

Any suggestions appreciated from dumdum

It should be right there at the base of the steering column like you said. You have to take the shroud off to get to it but if it has never been accessed it may be taped up to the harness. If my wife was here I would snap a pic of where it is. May be on top of harness also so you might not be able to see it.
