Default Stupid sway bar question

Should there be nuts on each end of the bar. I had noticed there is the two bolts up through to hold it on but there was no nuts on the ends and it just looks weird.

The other end has a stamped steel threaded retainer.

the after markets i just put on were bolt-and-nut style, but the stockers were that same as Kyle described: bolt and weird threaded disk "retainer". if you have to pull 'em for any reason, just pop a set of vice grips on it and go to town on the bolt head

yea it has the metal retainers. When i had it jacked up the was quite a gap in the rubber spacers is that normal? Im having a bad noise coming from the front end and ive no idea what it is. It seems to only happen at slow speeds and very noticeable when theres small bumps on the road. Someone said it could be those bushing but ive no idea. My only other idea would be the ball joints. I noticed there was a gap in the lower one and i figured the rubber boot should be tight.

if your BJ's a shot, you will get noises. if your sway bar is loose, you will get noises.

a set of bushings and 2 end links will run you about $30 after s&h....

BUT i'd save the money and pin point the noise before guess-repairing things.

BTW i had no gaps in my links, but different brands look different...

*lies* you just know....

I dunno man I had this damn clicking i couldn't figure out and i took my truck back to the guys that did my hub/BJs/pitman/idler etc after a little accident.
one of the tech took it for a spin, had me jump in and point out the clicking. he said it was my sway bar end. sure as s**t one of my links split (the rusty nail looking part that was once a bolt) and my sway bar just kind of hung saddly on one side while i wobbled down the road.

maybe someone can post something more useful, but if i wasn't trying to get crap fixed on warranty i would have probably had my wife/buddy/brother/mistress/evil twin drive around the cul de sac slowly while i listened for click clanks creaks and bangs then work to pin point it.

hope somone has some magic fix for you though

is it a bang or a click? if it's a (metallic) bang, then i'd be looking @ your t-bar mounts.

to be honest im not really sure what kind of noise it is bc it changes its tone all the time. When i jacked it up yesturday should i have been able to see gaps in the bj's and the end links? we recently got the truck and its got its orginal bj's with almos 250000 on them so it wont hurt to replace them anyways.
