Hey all.
Here's an anomaly that has existed ever since I bought my 2003 Chevy Blazer LS: my sun visors are too... long?
As you can see in the photos the little bar doesn't line up with the ceiling hooks, leaving the visors to shake and vibrate when driving. I've always been baffled as to how this is the case-- my guess would be that these are not the original visors but I highly doubt the previous owner would've swapped them out. Manufacturing defect... I guess?

It may be hard to tell but in the photos the visor is pressed directly against the hook, leaving no room for adjustment.

 

Can you do some measurements on these? If you provide those, we can share ours.

Perhaps the wrong visors were in the part bin at the factory that day?

 

I appreciate it! That could very well be the case.

So measuring on the underside of the visor, I've got about 16 1/2" from the slanted edge to the plastic pull-out.
I also measured the distance of the mount to the hook, which came out to be 11 1/2". Are these similar lengths to yours?

 

OK. I just got back from taking some pictures. At first I was like "These are the same measurements. Ack!" But then looking more closely where the pivot rod enters the visor on the outside, I saw that more of that rod is exposed on your visor than on mine. Perhaps you only have to push the visor along the rod to the outside?

Yep, Christine has it figured out. Push the visor over on it's pivot rod.

 

Well that turned out to be an embarassingly simple fix. You were definitely right, the visor just needed to be pushed along the pivot rod. I pushed with quite a bit of effort and it wouldn't budge, but pushing while twisting the visor back and forth did the trick. I swear I've tried pushing it before to no avail but I could be wrong. It does beg the question how both ended up in the same state... could just be moving little by little each time they're flipped up and down.

As for why you didn't push it back in place until now, I would have been scared to do it unless I knew it was supposed to be pushed back!

20 years with shaking visors!! Now you're sad, but happy too.
I drove 5 years with the driver side wiper barely touching the glass. This year I bought a new arm from Rockauto for like 10 bucks and in 10 minutes all my problems were solved.
