Default Temp issues...

I've used the search but coudln't find an answer so i figured i'd post my own. So lately my blazer's temp has been a little weird. It has been heating up to the proper temp right below 210 and then cooling off, but it seems like the t-stat was staying open after that because it would never heat up again. I figured since it was a fail-safe one that it was just getting stuck open.

So i went and bought a new 195 degree t-stat and i put it in. Now it just heats up to the quarter mark and thats all it does. It won't heat up past that at all, and it's fairly warm outside now around 70-80. So do you all think it's the t-stat or something else causing the problem?

Maybe is only the temp sender (name??) to the gauge starting to fail. Put your hand at the upper hose when the engine is definite hot. You will not support more than a second or two. If is only warm is the thermostat. I just change mine and I observed this. Fuel consumption may rise withthe under designed temp.

on my 93 it was on the passenger side head.

Search resulted in many hits but this pretty much describes it....

Thanks for the help. I'll look for it, for some reason i was thinking there was a sensor in the actual radiator right below the upper radiator hose that goes to the T-stat.

my 93 S10 blazer is running at 210 temp with a/c on max and driving in city traffic, is that normal operating temp?
seems a bit hot to me. I'm only comparing to my 84 cavalier that runs at 180 with a/c on.
