Default Temp rises at idke, drops at highway speed

I've recently noticed that my temperature gauge goes up about 2 tics past the 210 mark in traffic, but drops down to it's normal reading of about 195 on the highway. I'm thinking the fan clutch is bad. I added some dex cool to the recovery tank but it had little effect. Any opinions? It's an 02 blazer, btw.

What condition is your coolant in?

I agree, sounds like the clutch is slipping on you.

Default Added coolant

I tested the coolant inthe recovery tank. 4 ***** floated. I added some fresh coolant to the tank, since I noticed that the overflow hose going from the top of the radiator was hanging loose. There was probably some coolant loss, and since the system was open, thats probably what caused the erratic temperature readings . seems to be back to normal. Thank you for your inputs!
