Thermostat Question

I'm going to be replacing my thermostat and thermostat gasket soon and I was wondering if I should put RTV(etc) on the gasket when i install the new thermostat?

My 2001 Blazer btw.

no you dont need to cuz its a rubber o-ring.

nope no rtv on it the oring acts as a gasket seals it up
