third brake light comes on but the other two dont work.

Question third brake light comes on but the other two dont work.

hello. I have a 1998 chevy blazer ls 2door 4x4. I have the third brake light. but the two other brake lights and the brake lights for the trailer does not work. i have turn signals tail lights and reverse lights. all the bulbs are new. i replaced the brake switch. i have power coming from the brake switch out. I have re wired the trailer wiring. i have been trying to figure this out for 3 days and i am at the point of fustration. can some one please help me.

i had the same prob an it was my hazard switch an i had all the other light just not the 2 lower ones mine is a 98 2 door 2wheel

Hazard switch, there is/was a recall on it. Bring it down to your local dealer and the should change it out free of charge.

recall wish thay would of told me about it when i got mine form the dealer but it was under 20 bucks an about half an hour work to put the new one in

I STILL HAVE THE ISSUE AND I REPLKACED THE HAZZARD SWITCH

did you check the underhood fuses?

all the fuses are good. is there a relay switch i may be over looking? i have been trying to trace the ground wire. but do not know where to locate it.

i have tested the fuse and i do have power going to it as well from the brake light switch but none to the brake lights

if you checked all the fuses theres one fuse in the dash and one for each light under the hood i would start checking the grounds i think they all ground on the frame behind the bumper

Just a thought, I had a issue similar and it turned out to be my trailer lights had rubbed against the frame and grounded out. Not sure why the center would work though... Good luck!
