So it sounds like one of the relays in the glove compartment of my 96 blazer is ticking. Any idea what the problem is? Does this mean one of the relays is bad or on it's way out?

No check engine lights or anything. Nothing's malfunctioning.

The only electrical problem i've been having lately is with fuse A (Power door locks, power seat, power seat lumbar, remote keyless entry). It was putting out something like 13 amps with the car off and was draining the battery all night. I pulled the fuse and no more drain anymore. Could these problems be related because nothing's draining anymore with that fuse pulled.

Any ideas?

Doing a little research it sounds like the multifunction switch causes this issue a lot. Is there any way to verify before just throwing an $80 part at it? Other than the power locks, nothing else is malfunctioning.

 

Yea I read the same stuff you did and I think that I would toss a ten dollar relay at it first. That muti switch handles so much stuff that tracking each circut has got to be a nightmare

 

So I was driving around tonight and it started making noise again. I started messing with the turn signals, hazards, and lights and the lights did it. When I switched between the high and low beams, the noise cut in and out. The noise and the lights are definitely related.

Does this confirm the multifunction switch needs to be replaced?

 

Sure points to it but its always a fingers crossed deal. You can open the column up, look for bad connections, melted and shorting wires and the like so you can return the switch. Bad crimps/connector plugs can cause high resistance melted wirers and shorts. Good luck!
