Default Time Lag Drive-Reverse

Info: 1995-4.3- 4x4

Just curious how long some of your 95-96 trannies take to actually engage from shifting from Reverse to Drive?..mine takes about 6 long seconds, which seems forever when someones waiting behind me to get my **** moving!

shouldnt be that long. As soon as you put it in gear it should go in gear.

most times it shifts in under 2seconds,but still when pulling out of a busy parking lot with someone waiting to take my spot i get paranoid with the seeminly unneccessary pausing from these waitfulshifting changes.

Are these selonoids inside or outsidetransmision? take off drain pan to access?

If it ends up being a bad or slow solenoid they are inside of the transmission under the fluid pan. But before doing that make sure that you have gone through all of the options, first I would try what Drperry sugg. and check the quality of the fluid.

Depending on the condition of the fluid you might just need a fluid and filter change. How many miles on the Blazer and has it had any tranny maintainance??

As usual, many helpful giants here, the oil is just a slightly faded red,but i think i'm just going to go switch that filter out&enjoya good ol fashion facial oil washing.

lol, it's gotta be done once and awhile... and besides... It's always better to start with the cheap fixes first!
