Default Tires

Just a real quick question.

Anybody have trouble putting 10.5 wide tires on these 2nd Gen blazers?

It depends on your suspension setup and tire height. I ran 255/70/15s on my stock 4x4 4 door Blazer without rubbing. I then I lifted the Blazer 3" and ran 31x10.5x15s as well as 265/70/17s with some fender trimming.

My 96 4 door LT came with 31x10.5x15s. I don't see any shackles but wouldn't know if the Torques were cranked up at all. It sits nice and level.

Cool, Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it.
I'm firearms instructor and this is my company truck that spends quite a bit of time off road in BLM shooting, I was looking at the General Grabber AT2 in 31x10.5-15 and was hoping someone could save me some time on measurements cuz I'm lazy.

Thanks again for the help

which do you think would be better on stock suspension?
30 x 9.5-15
OR
31 x 10.5-15

If you have a ZR2, then 31x10.5x15 is the factory size.

If your truck is not a ZR2, then 30x9.5x15 will for sure fit without any rubbing. 31x10.5x15 will probably fit, but may rub when turning and hitting a bump. They almost definitely will rub if off-roading on a stock suspension.

Some people will turn their torsion bars up a bit (less than 1.5" is usually considered relatively safe) which will probably get you enough clearance to not rub with 31x10.5x15 tires. This will likely accelerate the wear on your front steering components, CVs, and hubs. There's a ton of discussion on the forum about how to do this and why you may not want to.

Thanks El_Beautor, that's kinda what I've been seeing.
do quite a bit of off road in here in the Nevada high desert (Northern Nevada/Reno area)
I'll probably go with the 31 x 9.5-15's.

I've been hearing good things about both the General Grabber AT2 and the Toyo(les schwab) open country A/T 2.
Any experience with these?

Got the AT2's....but in the 255/70-15 size....have been a really good tire, although have seen 95% road and no serious off road in the 25k miles I have on them. Appears I will easily get the stated 50k miles out of them.

I used tirerack when researching tires. Their reviews are very thorough and it's easy to compare one brand to another.
