What are the results of these suggestions?

I didn't have a chance to stop there today. I am for sure tomorrow. But if it's fuel pressure issues wouldn't it be there all the time? If not why only sometimes?

Could be any number of things; poor or loose connection, weak or failing pump or pump motor, check valve sticking in the pump at times, etc etc.

Key on, engine off, fuel pump running, pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.

Is it a greater possibility that its the fuel pump not the spider?

At this point we don't know what it is. Throwing parts at it without proper diagnosis gets expensive, (unless you're a good guesser) Fuel delivery is critical on these engines and checking the fuel pressure and leakdown rate are quick, simple and free tests, (if you have a tester). The results will either eliminate several possibilities, or point to a problem.

I like your thinking. I'm sick of throwing parts into it. I just bought it for winter Thats it. Ill check the fuel pressure tomorrow then

Alright so I got word from the shop.. There is a multiple cylinder misfire going on. Mainly cylinder 4 and also 1 and 3. I am thinking now its the distributor. All ignition parts have been done with the exception of that.

the fuel pressure test was good they said and held good pressure. not sure what it was.

Worn bushings can definitely cause random misfires, (P0300). If the shop has an oscilloscope, they can spot worn bushings immediately. Secondary ignition, roster, it sticks out like a sore thumb! If the distributor housing is black plastic, it's very possible that the bushings are worn, very common problem. Several aftermarket manufacturers now use aluminum housings, a much better design. Most all of them come with the CMP sensor and distributor cap and rotor. Use your AC Delco cap & rotor though.
