Default trailer hitch

Not sure if this post is in the correct section but here goes nothing I have a 2005 gmc Jimmy zr2 and while searching for trailer hitches its near impossible, while still being able to find trailer hitches for 2005 Blazers. My question is if i buy a blazer trailer hitch will it still bolt to my Jimmy?

I believe the differences in the ZR2 and the regular Blazers are with the suspension components, not the frame where the receiver-hitch would be mounted. You will likely need a ball-mount to put into the receiver due to the ride height of the ZR2.

If you could get some dimensions for the receiver-hitches you are interesting in buying, you could check before making the purchase.

Look in any salvage yard...lots of OEM hitches on vehicles being parted out...make sure you get all the mounting bolts/nuts.

Pretty sure it's the same hitch bolt on setup on a ZR2 and a non ZR2, Jimmy or Blazer. I think even the center section of the bumper is all interchangeable between them if I'm not mistaken; all the mounts on the frame are the same.

I have not seen a 2 or 4 door Blazer that did not have a factory hitch installed. I suspect a hitch was an option, but just have not seen one, at least in my neck of the woods.....without one. How did a ZR2 not get a factory hitch?

I agree that any hitch from a Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada are all the same......

My 04 4 door did not have one when I got it, I had to install one. One of the first things I did before I even got it legal actually lol

Yep....sure there are some Blazers out there without the factory hitch.....and now I am going to be checking everyone that I see....just because.

Are those additional LEDs tied to the reverse lites or on a separate switch?

They were tied into the reverse light circuit. They were pretty terrible. They've since been replaced with something MUCH better

My 2000 LS doesn't have a hitch but it has a hole in the bumper (that I would never ever use) for a trailer.
