Default Transmision please help :/

Hi im a 19 year old college student and my trans just weent out in my 96 2door 4wd (not zr2) and i know a guy who will give me a trans from a 1995 4door 4x4 for 300$ but will it bolt right up, please herlp thanks.

i dont think you can use the '95 trans. '95 was an odd ball year for the blazer and from what i've been told the engine and trans works only for that year. I believe the harness to the trans is different. But if you search the forum you may find more info on this.

i believe you are stuck with 96-97 model 4x4s only. from what i understand the electronics changed in 98

Don't be so sure, I think they made like three configurations of the 95. You need to get the vin # of both and do a google search. You might get lucky and have a match.

if you go to a Junkyard they should have a interchange book and that should help you out.

You maybe right..I think the one that came with the obdII 95's are one of a kind. like I said '95 is an odd year..lots of work to put a 4x4 trans in and have it be wrong.

yeah unfortunetly all the yards are closedtill tm around here, i miss pulling all my fullsize truck friends out of the mud, i have had many of 4x4s and i love my 2 door lil red by far i was deffinetly impressed in the snow with less than fair tread

Also I'm not sure of this but didn't the '96 have a full bell housing that bolted to the cast oil pan and the '95 has a flywheel cover?
