Just bought a 95 S10 Blazer with a blown tranny. It still moves a bit when you first start it off, but no more than ~600 ft. or so, and you can always tell it is slipping. Yesterday I was moving it around so I can clean it out (waiting a week or so to do the tranny swap so I will have help), and it felt pretty tight. I put it in drive and power breaked it for a fraction of a second and the tires squeaked.

My question is, if it can still do that (randomly) do you think there is still life in the tranny?

Do you think I could get away with a filter swap and possibly some Lucas tranny helper?

It was not cooler than usual, about 75-80 and sunny.

After it did this, I was able to drive it ~ a block and a half before it was done... When it decides not to move anymore, you can feel it just kinda of fade out...
