Transmission..
On the $800 Blazer I got is having issues. When I first start the blazer, if not allowed to idle for a few minutes the tranny slips between 1st and second, and if cold, 2nd and 3rd. This is only when first started, otherwise it has more pep than my 310hp 89 Silverado. with 180k miles on it and unknown maintenance, could it just need a good flush and new filter? Any other ideas?
First I would drop the pan and gauge the 'mud' to estimate the wear. There is NO good flush if a 180K transmission has not been well service in my experience.
I know one guy (the shop owner who did our engine swap) on a Geo by driving it a few miles with laquer thinner added then doing a drain down and replacing the filter and ATF.
While it might clean the valve body it can swell O-rings by 20% at full strengh I have learned in a hand pressure sprayer. I would not try this. There are some high mileage engine oil and ATF that uses chemicals to swell oil seals but I do not know the risks involved.

Hi,
I have just repaired my 2001 blazer which had transmission fluid leaking from the top connection on the oil cooler on rad, once the top connection was replaced the bottom connection started leaking...I have now replaced this and now i have filled the system back up, it is slipping between 2nd and 3rd, not badly but def not good....any ideas,
