Default Transmission Lift Rental

Hey guys, Anyone know where I should look to rent a transmission lift? I called Advance already, and they don't have one. What kind of place should I look for to rent one?

no idea man... I've always done it with a normal jack and a plate that we welded up and then strap to the tranny.

I actually own a fork lift. We might see if there's a way we can utilize that. Usually I use that instead of the floor jack if I have to lift up one end or the other..... When I had smaller cars we've actually come at it from the side and lifted the entire car up!

Most equipment tool rental places will rent a tranny jack. Places like "Rent-A-Tool". Oddly enough the auto parts stores don't carry them, so they don't rent them out. Find a tool renatl place for like skaffolding, post hole diggers, stuff like that. They should have them for rent.

Me, personally, I use a floor jack, not the safest, nor the best option. Its what I have. Pic of how I set it up below. Current project, rebuild the 4L60E in my '00 S10-Blazer. Broke my sun sheel New years weekend.
