Transmission problems?
I have a 2002 Blazer 4x4 that has just developed a problem. While on my 1/4 mile drive to work the blazer lost power it didn't make any scraping, breaking sounds(the engine was running completely fine) when pressing the gas the rpms will climb like normal however it would not transfer the power to the wheels. Being 7 in the morning and 30 degrees out I just coasted it into the parking lot and went into work.
When leaving work I started the truck like normal and put it into reverse and got a whole lot of nothing... rpms climbed but no movement, I tried drive and still got nothing, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, nothing... park works great and it WILL shift into neutral. I checked the fluid and it is fine (pinkish red no burnt smell) I've also checked the cable from the shifter to the transmission, it was connected and not bound up, I also checked all the fuses. I tried putting it into 4 low and going through the gears again (thought the rear end could have seized up) still nothing. After having a friend drive me home and take me back I discovered (to my amazement) that no codes have been triggered (my check engine light is broken but that's a story for another day). I've done a bit of research and people seem to think either NSBU switch or Park interlock solenoid; however I could not find a list of symptoms.
Last year I had the motor completely rebuilt, I would prefer not to have to get the transmission rebuilt this year.
(Its worth a note) I don't hear any sounds from the transmission, only the engine.
