Default Trouble code P0141 oxygen sensor question

My ses light came on today on my 2001, brought it to Autozone and code P0141 popped up.
Should I just replace the os after the cat or is there anything I should try first? I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but the code was still there on startup - is it possible it will go away?
Just checking for quick advice before ordering an AC Delco sensor.

P0141 (GMT360/370) - HO2S Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

That will give you some of the general information about the code. I believe that all of the sensors are the same in all three positions so you could try swapping the rear sensor with one of the upstream sensors to see if the code follows the sensor.

thanks for the reply. If I switch the sensors would the codes change right away? or would I have to drive it a while before bringing it back to Autozone? Also, does anyone know if the direct replacement Bosch sensors are any good? or should i stay with the stock AC delco replacement?

Don't waste your time with anything else. Just go AC Delco and forget about it.

It may take a bit for it to pop back up.

Just so I understand what you're saying, if the sensor is the prob and I switch them, the code will go off after a while then pop back on after driving some more this time displaying a different code? thanks again for the help.

Correct. If you swap it with the B1S1 sensor (driver side) and the code changes to P0135, then the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. The code would be P0155 if the sensor is bad and you swap it with the B2S1 sensor (passenger side).

After driving about 50 miles over a couple days the light went off by itself. I guess disconnecting the battery delays resetting the ses light for a few miles, hopefully it'll stay off.

It will likely be back. The good thing is, other than the annoying light, nothing bad will happen from that sensor being on the fritz.
