o.k. y'all are more worried bout grammar on here than you are the content, guess (almost spelled that wrong too many e s' I'm sure that would've gotten 10 replies just on that alone) i joined the wrong forum. I'm more concerned about getting my truck running better then i am about spelling something 100% correct. i used text form because i was in a hurry not cause i don't know how to write. oh and excuse me I meant to say 10-11 days in a 2 week period. now onto the very few bits of helpful advice that I literally had to get a friend of mine to help me find, I don't have a pressure gauge yet but it's on the list of things to get. i'm living check to check right now so i gotta plan way in advance, i'm currently using 89 octane i won't put 87 in my car, i know the damage it can do, car companies suggest 87 so you have to replace plugs and o2 sensors and cats (if you can't understand what that's short for start taking your car to a mechanic because you're just meesing stuff up under there) more often then you would if you just went up 1 octane level higher, they want you to need parts. I do work on cars alot and I work @ a parts store and I went to school for it, obviously i didn't finish otherwise I wouldn't be asking for advice, now as for tire size and lift, one i was just being silly about bigger tires giving me better hwy mpg (oooh i broke down the structure of a word too much, idiots) but it is 4wd and that was the reason i bought it and i fully intend to use it, I see all the time and way too often ppl (oh btw that's short for people get with the times people check other forums "step outside of your sheltered little world" and you'll see first hand nobody types the way you obviously do we ain't writing resumes' we're asking for help and advice) that either lower a 4wd drive for "better handling" someone mentioned earlier if you wanted a smoother ride get a car and with that i couldn't agree more, or some folks that'll jack it way up and chrome it out, build it up to handle quite a bit and literally go bonkers when it gets dirt on it from a mud puddle it makes me sick, you got a 4wd use if for crying out loud. I really don't care who doesn't like what this says, for those that helped thank you for those that cared more about my grammar get a life

Well, good luck in life with that attitude.
I believe I gave some info I thought would be helpful, regardless of how you posted it. Guess I'll just keep things to myself next time someone texts up a post.

o.k. y'all are more worried bout grammar on here than you are the content, guess..................all i hear him ranting about here guys is, "blah, blah, blah, BS galore".........................................I really don't care who doesn't like what this says, for those that helped thank you for those that cared more about my grammar get a life
http://dictionary.reference.com/
some of us (myself included), were trying to point out to you the importance of proper period placement, not rag on ya for misspelled words. i myself have been ragged for using txt here too btw (that's "text" and "by the way" for all of you that don't know, hahahaha).
my high school machine shop teacher once told us, "no matter what you do in life, you'll always learn something new everyday.". now, i don't think he literally meant every single day, but, that no one knows everything, so pay attention to what is going on, you might learn something new.
now, if you still feel "burned", about what's been posted here (by myself, and others), then you need to "step outside of your sheltered little world, and you'll see first hand ppl do type the way we obviously do". no, "we ain't writing resumes", but we are "asking for help and advice". so grow some skin.
sorry guys, but i wasn't gonna listen to his rant without have my piece.

All I can do here is relate my experience. So here goes...
After a few epic failures on my part, I ended up replacing the entire ignition system, from distributor to plugs...everything including the coil. I also replaced the spider assembly, the fuel pump, and the inline filter. Mileage went from ~16mpg if I tried hard to just over 20mpg now. I drive at least 80 miles round trip 5 days a week going to class and back home. About 70/30 highway/city driving.

Your right with less drag on the motor by the electric fans...but with a more effecient radiator...means better heat disappation, meaning the motor to run on the cooler side, meaning a very slight gain in hp, that will consume less fuel to get to a certain speed.

200 for a fuel pump
280 for injectors and bracket
100 for a distributor
50 for cap and rotor
25 for ign coil
30 for plugs
warrantied the plug wires - free
18 for fuel filter
so almost $700 with me doing it all myself...all because I was trying to save $5 and not remove the throttle body to clean it. the tb cleaner ate through the toothbrush and it fell off into the int manifold. Then I broke a few things and the rest is history. It has never ran this good, though. So in the end, it was all worth it
These are all guesstimates(and pretty close) as I don't have the receipts in front of me.

I drive a 2004 4wd 2dr Blazer. I replaced the Uniroyal Laredo's with Michelin LTX M/S at about 45,000. I dont think the tires made a difference. Maybe the nitrogen did. But I replaced the stock air cleaner with an Airhog and I started running Techron in my gas every six months.
There is a trip I take thats about 1200 miles roundtrip, all freeway from Michigan to New Jersey. I used to average about 19-20mpg. After the new tires (with nitrogen), Airhog, and Techron I averaged 22-23mpg.
One other contributing factor could be the new rear brakes. The old (originals) might have been dragging some. The 4 rear pads were not consistently worn.
