turn signals.brake lights blowing fuses

for some unknown reason, wifes 96 blazer two door has started blowing the brake/haz fuse and t/s fuses..i work for AC/DELCO and replaced both flashers..still no cure..all fuses are proper amp and in proper place..nothing has been changed or altered to the wiring..just suddenly blown fuses..takes a while..usaly twenty/thirty minutes of driving/using them..then i have to replace the fuses..tailights are unaffected..all bulbs good, no corrosion in tailight sockets or damaged wireing..this has my ASE son and i stumped..any help much appreciated..thanks..pj in nashville

This problem could be caused by an internal short in the multifunction switch.

A 96 does. You are piggybacking off of the original thread. If you have an 89, you might want to post in the appropriate forum...
