Question Turning over, not starting

I have a 95 blazer. A couple days ago i went to start it after work. It would turn over but not start. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake as it started... and kept running. I was confused. It ran great for a couple days then did it again. Same thing ... starter fluid... start and keep running. Finally yesterday morning driving on the freeway it after like there was no gas and died. Now when I spray starting fluid it starts then dies. I assumed the fuel pump was bad so i replaced it and the fuel filter. Still same thing. I checked the relay and the fuse and swapped both just to be sure. Still nothing. I'm getting fuel to the Schrader valve at the fuel rail but i don't have a gauge to test pressure. Anyone else had this before?

Which fuel injection system does it have, throttle body or CPI? Meanwhile, I'd suspect the fuel pressure regulator regardless of which system it's running (the FPR is located under the upper intake manifold on CPI systems). Meanwhile, some auto parts stores lend or rent fuel injection pressure gauges (Autoz*ne, etc). Otherwise, H*rbor Fre*ght Tools has fuel injection pressure test kits for a reasonable price (these aren't the best, but they do work). Meanwhile, FPRs for either system generally run from 25-60 bucks (with the CPI units being higher in price). Just be sure that the FPR is seeing the vacuum it needs to operate correctly before you replace it. Also make sure that the FPR gasket/o-ring is good before replacing the FPR unit itself. My '95 CPI FPR had nothing more that a bad o-ring that cost me less than $5. Good luck, and sorry for the late reply! Note: A bad oil pressure sending unit and/or connection can, in some cases result in no fuel pressure (the OPS unit will shut down the fuel pump in the event of low oil pressure).
