Default Unknown Connector

While hooking up the scanner today I noticed a connector hanging down but don't see a place where it belongs unless behind the plastic somewhere.

Any ideas?

Hi JGF... maybe this is a 'dead thread', Just bought a clean '98 & ran across the same connector... two purples, a purple / white, and a black / white wires. Ever figure out what it does? Thx rtk3
