Unwanted Exhaust Noise
I recently put a performance exhaust on my 02 Blazer LS and am having a problem with the parking brake cable coming into contact with the tailpipe where it crosses over the rear axle (this seems to have been a problem with the stock exhaust, as well, because when I removed it, I noticed that the cable was slightly worn in one spot from rubbing against the pipe).
At any rate, I must have installed the exhaust a little closer to the cable than the stock pipe was because it seems to be causing a clanking noise when the cable contacts the pipe when the truck hits a bump in the road.
I had the exhaust connections welded for added security, so that leaves me no room for further exhaust adjustments.
Can anyone provide any suggestions for ways to eliminate the clanking noise? I'm thinking of using a zip tie to hold the cable closer to the axle and away from the exhaust. Would that be acceptable? Or can the cable be re-routed? Because as stated, the stock exhaust had a simliar problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anything you can do to move the cable would likely help. I know in the past I have had to fab up new eyelets to either lift or lower the cables on various different cars/trucks. I just used 3/16" bar stock and bent it to match the original but either longer or shorter depending on where I was going to put it in the frame.
