I got a problem! When I take my foot off the gas I get a small vibration that feels like it is coming from the front wheels
, when I press on the breaks this small vibration turns into a Violent shudder. I removed the two front wheels last night to see what condition the rotors are in and there is not groves or noticeable warping. Do you guys have any idea what this could be? I plan to do some more looking tomorrow but for now I am lost. The point I want to emphasize is that there is zero noise or vibration when the throttle is engaged only when "coasting" are these issues present.

wow thats a good one... no noise, only on coasting, not on idle so its gotta be something moving but not throttle related. torque converter? or maybe front bearrings.. when u release throttle it coasts with slightly more push force on the front then accelerating and when u brake its even more... id say torque converter or front berrings....

 

You could try pulling calipers and see if the hubs wobble.

 

I replaced both front hubs( Timmken) along with all four ball joints( moog ) less than a month ago....So I do not think it is the Hubs.

 

It could be sticking calipers. Have you noticed a loss in mpg? Do the fronts get very hot after a short time?

 

I vote calipers too...sounds like they are binding up on ya.

 

break out the tools and get new calipers... im plannin on hittn all 4 this summer.... if i get my promotion at work ....

 

Well if it is the callipers I only have to do the fronts as I replaced the rears less than a year ago...we had it jacked up on stands today and ran it and it almost sounds like noise is coming from the transfer case.... Does anyone know if there is any adjustment in the case to take some slop out of the rear drive shaft?

Also if it was to be the front callipers how would I check them to be sure? I ask just cause I pulled the front wheels the other day and did not see any signs of issues ( bad scaring etc )

You can pull off the caliper and look at the slide pins, and metall shims the pad travels on. They shouldn't be rusty. When you push the pistonsin on the calipers it shouldn't take much force. If it does the piston is probably seized.
