Default Very informative, fixed 2 things now for 4wd

This forum is pretty informative. I have a 1996 Jimmy and have been searching around here for a few days, and since, have fixed the rear hatch that wouldn't open, and just replaced my brake booster this morning. aahh! much better... now i just need to fix my 4WD. was stuck in 4LO last winter and replaced the encoder motor (which was no fun) got it back into 2 hi but a few months later and it will only go into 4LO again, and sometimes what i like to call (4 medium) which is 4WD but only through 2 gears. weird, I know. After doing some research, I think maybe I needed to reset my tccm since I replaced the encoder motor, and never reset the tccm and im thinking it does not know the exacto position of the transfer case. Does anyone know where the tccm fuse is located?

The 4wd fuse powers the TCCM. It should have figured it all out by now. Have you checked for codes stored in the TCCM?

Thanks again. Really, I appreciate the help. I have bookmarked the link you posted. Hopefully I will get the 4WD all worked out before winter. Mt. Shasta, CA gets quite a bit of snow. Would attempt to tackle it today, but am a little burned out and knuckle busted from the brake booster I replaced this morning. Again.. thank you.
