I have recently developed vibration driver's side front or so it feels that I though was maybe the tires. Yesterday I replaced the front tires and I still have a vibration that starts about 50 mph and fades way about 60 mph. could this be front hub or a axle or something else?

 

Is it making any noise? I would say to jack it up and feel for excessive play in the tires. North,south would be ball joints, east,west would be hubs. Does it make any noise while turning?

 

no noise. ball joints all new, hub & axle was replace 3 years ago. it a light vibration kind of like a tire out of balance, but changed tires and still have the same vibration. and it only at 50 mph to 60 mph
the vibration started about 500 miles ago

 

What brand did you replace the hubs with and were they torqued correctly? Not trying to offend you lol. 3 years is kind of relative, how many miles in those 3 years? I've seen cheap ebay hubs not last 15k miles. Jack it up and check for play, east and west.

 

not really sure what brand the hub is it was changed in a shop locally. its got about 15,000 miles or just a little over that.

I am afraid it might be the hub that side has been replaced twice in 60,000 miles (+/-)

 

Get a timeken (sp?) They are the best, but costly. Shake it down first though.

 

the only thing that I thought was remotely questionable on the old truck was the pitman arm, and tie-rod ends and center drag link. and I gave them a shake down about 1000 miles ago, but none of them would cause vibration, under most cases. 2000 miles ago I changed all four shocks the left side hub and axle and idler arm.

 

I went back and leveled the drag link that i didn't do when I replaced the idler arm and that helped some, tonight I replace the passenger upper ball joint that seemed to make some difference but I have not had it out on hwy yet. it's going to the alignment shop tomorrow and we will see what happens then also the front diff was really low on oil but not dry but very low.

 

They should shake it all down for you pretty good. Be sure to ask to see any bad componets before letting them replace anything. Some less than reputable places really rip people off on alignments.

 

I got it back from the alignment job, truck does roll easier and drives a lot better. toe-in was out by 3 degrees and camber was out by 1 degree and ride height was off by .75" . I have not got it out on the highway yet.

amazing they didn't need any parts (I just installed all new ball joints, new idler arm), and they warranty there work for 30 days, I think I got a good job.
