^This gentleman's first post accurately describes my current situation. My truck has 73k miles on her and I am pretty certain the stock shocks as the previous owner has no paperwork showing them to have been replaced. I am going to go ahead and replace the front shocks. The rears are the autoride shocks and I don't have the dime to replace those at the moment (if they even need it). I checked the front wheel bearings and they seem fine. I do appear to have a torn front CV boot...yay! Anyone know if the re-mans are total crap?!
Oh and lastly what shocks would you all recommend? I see that the bilsteins are stock so I would prob just stay with those unless otherwise persuaded.

Reman CV joints are fine, no problem with them. Search these forums and you'll get plenty of info on shocks, but Bilsteins are very hard to beat. If they're aftermarket and you have the original receipts you can probably get them replaced free.

I already order the bilsteins. They are the factory replacements, I just want to keep it OEM. I have lifted dreams, but I don't have the time and $ right now.
I'm glad I didn't try and lift it because I needed the money for the battery and alternator I had to replace. I must say though, that was the easiest alt removal and re-install I've ever done. 20 minutes and done.
