I have a 98 4x4, 4door and the fuel pump has been acting up. I think that a new one is in my near future. Pricing pumps, one place shows one for an 18 gallon tank and one for a 19 gallon tank. Another parts store shows 18 gallon and except 18 gallon. How do you tell which tank you have?

I'm pretty sure 4-door is an 18 gallon tank and 2-door is a 19 gallon tank.

Can anybody back me up on that?

Thanks! It was confusing because they would ask if 2 door or 4 door and then the question would come back up about the size of tank. I will go with 18.

thats Odd because when i go to fill up, my tank only lets me pump 11 gallons before it starts to over flow...i turn on my car and the fuel gauge goes a couple of notches below the Full mark...could this be the same problem...i have a 2003 2 door blazer LS

 

i heard some thing that chevy had a court case for making up their gas tank sizes. Whether or not its true i believe the 4 doors are like 14 gallons but they are marked as 18.

 

First I have ever heard of it.

In my old Bravada, I put in just over 17gallons once and that was not really by choice, but during a multiple casualty motor vehicle accident where my truck was used to keep some people involved warm and then was left to run while we had to reconstruct the scene with the police and sheriffs.

 

Tell 'em you want a duty vehicle!!

 

I would be curious to see some verification of that case.

 

on my 2dr zr2 when my tank is half full a fuel up for a bout 2 weeks but any ways at half tank i can put 15 or 16gallons in befor it shuts off
