Default What year engines fit a 97 blazer?

I have a 97 blazer with a bad motor. My question is will a 99 or 00 motor fit in my 97, if not what years will fit it?

Thanks,
jake

1997 would obviously be the easiest swap, but 1996 "W" engine code and newer will work. Whatever engine you install, the crankshaft position sensor relearn must be done after the install.
