Default What's this?

Had the dash trim off today as fitting a new stereo, and found Bacofoil wrapped around a device of some sort.

Any one got a clue as to what the box of trickery does, and why it might be wrapped in foil?

Not sure, but I thought I'd point out that your oil pressure gauge is in kilo pascals!

I didn't realize that was the metric pressure unit...but.. I guess I probably should have..haha..

F for very hot (temps over 100) C for very cold (temps below freezing) more dramatic for the tv weather [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Looks like the RKE (remote keyless entry) module that is typically below the dash. Atleast that's my guess. The pictures really don't show it all that well. Don't know what was to be accomplished by moving it up and wrapping it in aluminum foil. If anything, I would think that wrapping the whole unit in it would degrade the signal strength from the transmitter...

Where does the harness go? You may have to pull the cluster out to determine that.

I believe that is the harness for the once considered but then abandoned flux capaciter. Seems they couldn't get past the EPA with the emissions or something along those lines.

Did wonder if it was reciever for remote locking! sorry about pic quality, but was with phone, and was extremely bright (unusually)

Would have thought foil would reduce range, dash definately been removed before as some screws missing, lol
Only reason i can thnk for trying to reduce range is accidently unlocking from the house? my buddy left his audi at my place for a few weeks, and i had the key on my bunch, was always going out to find it unlocked!
