Welp, after 4 months and all of 135 miles
on my new-to-me '99 ZR-2, I finally re-fitted/up graded the "Spyder"
Between s%#& weather, time-off of work, and the "K" deciding to run like s&^$ when warmed up, I had to tackle it.
After about 6 hours (taking my time- not to f. things up more) and getting it running again, I can hear an obvious vacuum leak.
The leak is coming from the upper manifold. It's a 90 degree fitting that supplies vacuum to the brake booster. It's located just to the drivers side of the injector connector, and to the right of the PVC valve. 1/8th turn to lock in, with a locking tab. I removed it when I took off the plenum. The "O" ring is shot - too loose to fit snugly onto this mystery fitting, and bunches up/goes on top of the plenum, hence creating a very noticeable vac leak.
What is this fitting called?
To me, it was Orange in color at one time, by the out-line in the plastic manifold, but Black (and loose) now.
Does it need to be fuel rated, or can any "off-the-shelf" "O" ring do?
Thanks
P.J.
P.S. - SPECS - 1999 ZR-2, 4.3l, 4-button 4x4, Auto 4L60-E, 203,000 miles, bunch of new service parts....
P.P.S. - yeah, I've got shop manuals, but 32 miles away don't do me any good
