As fast as conditions permit. If you have a nice enough road to exceed 70MPH on, you really shouldn't need to be in 4HI...

amen.

does your 2000 have the 4 button 4Auto option? If you are in hit-or-miss conditions (excessive water, slick inclines, patchy snow/muck/sand) you can run in 4Auto for the bonus of better traction at the cost of some fuel economy....

really though swartlkk said it all. go as fast as it is safe to do so. you shouldn't NEED 4hi AND crazy speed at the same time... hell even if you are trying to run down the freeway to the hospital in light snow you'd be better off running at a safe, even, speed....

The fastest I've ever gone was about 50. It was on a snow-packed highway where I should hav epry gone slower, but Blazers just tear through snow!

This is kind of a redundant question isn't it? You sort of answered your own question lol.

i think the owners manual says like around 50. ive done about that on my fullsize hitting a nice salted stretch and not wanting to take it out of 4x4

If you have the part time system, e.g (3 Button) you can supposebly drive at any posted speed limit, but If you are driving 70mph, either the road conditions don't warrant 4WD, or you are driving way to fast. I would personally keep it under 55mph. My family has owned 4x4's all my life and before then and that was what I was always taught

I know in my 97 s10 with the floor shifter 4x4 it didn't want to go any faster that 50 mph. In my blazer I have the push button and when the conditions are questionable I put it in the auto. I really only have it in 4hi when I'm offroading or when the snow is really bad. I don't think I've ever had it past 40 mph in 4hi

The reason I asked the question was a freind has a Ram 1500 4x4 and he said not to go over 40 in 4Hi, which is a little slow to drive that speed on the highway(which is where I drive 80% of the time).Saddly I dont hace the Auto button.I was trying to keep it around 50 on highway in snowy conditions.Didnt see anything in my manual.
